MAYBE it's the way the camera zooms into MasterChef judge Matt Preston's lips as he tilts his head and chews on some of the dishes created by the show's wannabe chefs.There is also the allure of his distinctive style, complete with crazy cravats - it is clear The Age columnist is very much his own man. Or perhaps it's just Preston's unwillingness to resort to Gordon Ramsay-style put-downs; rather, as a judge he is known for his manners and, sometimes, becoming undone when his favourite contestants leave the kitchen.In any case, there is definitely something very sexy about Preston, according to the viewers who have dedicated to him a spate of adoring posts on the MasterChef website.Under the topic "Fess up Matt Preston fans", one viewer confesses the desire to lick excess cream from Preston's lips. "My obsession with this gorgeous man is beyond control," the fan writes. "My husband thinks I'm nuts. My kids think I'm nuts. My friends think I'm nuts. The cream on his lips tipped me over the edge."One post says: "I also love his 'Oscar Wilde' look, with his hair and the way he dresses."Another writer adds: "I love his wardrobe and that white suit, very swish! He's cool as well!"Preston is bemused. "It's a very strange thing," he says. "Lets face it, as (fellow judge) George Calombaris says, 'A man who can cook is hot.' "Luckily, he adds, his wife has been able to bring him back down to earth. "My wife showed me some of (the posts) and reminded me it was ridiculous . . . and that these people had obviously been drinking crazy water or something."She just wanted to remind me that I was fat, 47, and that she had seen me in my underwear, so I wasn't to get too up myself."
